CURLY GIRL APPROVED HaIr OIL

EUR

According to the Curly Girl Method, you use a hair oil after washing your curls. An oil can act as a sealant to combat frizz or as a care that penetrates deep into the hair roots. Curly hair is often frizzy and brittle, so an oil is a good product to use. While styling your hair, it provides hydration and care for your curls. The hair oils below are Curly Girl-proof, and therefore do not contain silicones, parabens and sulfates.

Hair Oil

Did you know that there are many different types of oils for curls, each with their own effect? Consider, for example, jojoba oil, avocado oil, argan oil and castor oil. We can distinguish two types of hair oil: oils that have the property of being able to penetrate the scalp and hair (moisturizing oil), and oils that remain on the hair (sealing oil). Which oil is most suitable for your hair depends entirely on your hair and what you want to achieve with the oil. Do you want less dry and frizzy hair? Then choose a moisturizing oil. Do you want more shine? Then choose a sealing oil. Do you want a bit of both? This is possible with the types of oil that can do both. They can all be found in the above list of oils. These CG friendly oils do not contain silicones, sulfates, parabens or drying alcohol.

Once you’ve found the best oil for your hair, apply it to wet hair: after shampooing and before applying your styling product. For this you can use the LOC Method: this is a technique to moisturize your hair and to ensure that your hair retains that moisture. You start with leave-in conditioner, which hydrates your hair. Then you use oil to seal your hair so that the moisture is retained. Finally, a cream (or gel or mousse) gives a nice curl definition. You can also reverse the steps oil and cream, then you speak of the LCO Method. Give it a try and find out what works best for your curls.

You can also use an oil to squeeze a gel cast out of your curls. This is a hard layer that you get when your hair has dried with gel. An oil like jojoba can also work well for a dry and itchy scalp. After shampooing your hair, apply a few drops of the oil to your scalp and massage it in.
